The owners of the pubs near the London docks used to serve a blend of two or three beers to porters and other dockworkers. The result often yielded a brown, malty, caramelized drink, slightly sweet, barely burnt, and not too strong in alcohol. Perfect for refueling on a budget without taking much time to eat, it became known as Porter's Beer. In homage to that era, we have created the English Porter, moderately dry with flavors of caramelized and roasted malts, with a touch of crème brûlée. English hops add a subtle bitterness, providing a balanced experience.
