Major D’ale

After a hard day of riding with his cavalry regiment, Major d’Ale can’t resist the temptation of this delightfully malty and sweet barley wine, which keeps him warm during the cool nights of southern England thanks to its notes of barley sugar and raisins combined with its high alcohol content.

Generous hopping makes it pleasantly bitter when young. This becomes less pronounced over time as the hops preserve the beer. It’s possible to keep it for many months, during which it may develop notes of port, dried fruit and maple taffy.
